Temecula Rod Run

It is our last few days here in Menifee and we are just taking it easy. I have been playing Pickleball in the mornings and relaxing in the evenings. Not a bad combination.

Saturday we decided to ride over to Temecula, which is only 15 miles south or so. They have an annual Rod Run where they close off the streets of “Old Town” and have their classic car and rod show. Old Town Temecula is full of quaint shops and restaurants. It made a great venue for the Rod Run.

We got there early and spent about 2 hours walking around the cars. By the time we left, the crowd was huge. I am glad we went when we did.

Here are a few pictures of my favorite cars and trucks.

There were so many cars that we did not see. This was probably one of the largest Rod Runs we have ever been to. It started to get crazy crowded and that is my queue to leave.

We stopped for lunch on the way back home and enjoyed the rest of the day at home. Sunday we are going to watch the Nascar race and start packing things up to leave here on Monday morning. We only have about 100 miles to our next destination at the Pio Pico Thousand Trails.

From what I hear there is no internet available due to being down in a canyon. This may be a good test for our Wilson amplifier. Hope it works. I hate having to go to the clubhouse to use the computer.

Pio Pico is as far south as we are going to go. We will be very close to the Mexican border. We plan on sight seeing a lot in San Diego. This is whale migration season so we want to take a whale watching tour. I also want too check out the San Diego Zoo, the USS Midway Museum and Point Loma. Hopefully the weather holds up.

Enjoy Your Day!

The San Diego Zoo is wonderful! I spent quite a bit of time in SD for my j-o-b!! There was a wonderful mexican restaurant in Old Town that had the best margaritas! My Dad was stationed on the Midway for 4 years! Take some pics for me if you get a chance! Would love to send him some!

We love those classic car shows and frequently seek them out. Looking forward to your post about your whale watching tour. Hope you're able to get some shots.

Now that's something we'll have to put on our "To-Do" list! The boys love car shows (My feet still remember walking the entire length of Pigeon Forge & back during last year's Rod Run there!), and I happen to know that there a at least a couple of great quilt shops in Temecula that I'm dying to visit!
