Tight Quarters, Puppy and a Hike

Hmmm, It has been over a week since I updated the blog. Somehow 75 degrees and sunshine has kept us busy with other things.

This past weekend we took a little trip with a friend of our brother in law to pick up his new addition. A cute little Australian Sheppard. I did not take my camera but he looks just like this one.

He is a cute little fur ball, and it was fun to watch him get used to his new home. I miss having a dog but we run too much. We will just have to enjoy other peoples pets.

On Monday we made a short move to another RV park. It was only about a mile away from our last park. We had stayed our two weeks and had to move out for seven days. We are now at Golden Sun here in Apache Junction. This park has a nicer pool and spa and more activities scheduled. I thought our last park was tight to get into but this one is worse.

When we arrived, our neighbor had their truck parked over into our space by a few feet which made it impossible for us to back in. We knocked on their door but they were not home. I called the manager and they did not have any other site to put us in. We decided to just park the rig out of the way someplace and go have lunch.

We took our time eating lunch and by the time we returned they were back at their rig. He moved his truck a few feet and then I got backed in. This was the tightest spot I have ever had to back into. Not only is it very narrow it is short as well. We have a motorhome behind us and I can barley squeeze between us.  Our bedroom slide is so close to the neighbors truck that he has to duck under our slide to get in.

I did get backed in with surprising little trouble. We had several neighbors watching us so I had the added pressure of an audience. Once backed in I had several people complement me on getting it done so smoothly.

Tuesday we took a nice day hike to see the Hohokam Indian petroglyphs. The trailhead was only about 10 miles from us. It is called the Hieroglyphic's Trail, and it is a nice 3 1/2 mile round trip. It actually branches off of “The Lost Gold Trail”

The trail is an easy gradual uphill climb with a little rock scrambling at the end. We had great views as we made our way to the pools where the petroglyphs were.

We sat in the canyon and looked at the drawings with amazement and wondered what it must have been like hunting and living in these harsh conditions.

It was a great hike that only took us about three hours. We finished the day by relaxing at the pool and spa.

We will move again next Monday back to Countryside Rv park, where we only have to pay $3 a night. So another tight maneuver is in order. Hopefully I can get in and out without putting any ouchies on our rig.

Wednesday we spent the day at home and I washed the truck while Max worked on bills and insurance matters. Of course now that I washed the truck we woke up to some light rain this morning.

Enjoy Your Day!

What? No picture of your site. We're fortunate in that we have a large site for the motorhome. Also have one for the trailer and car. The loop we are in is closed so we have it to ourselves. No many people staying this far out. You guys really should come visit.

one sure way to make it rain is to wash your truck or motorcycle. :-)

sounds like the site you are in is "challenging to say the least.

Congrats on getting your rig into that tight spot so easily. Don't you just love it when the neighbors pull up a chair to watch the entertainment? No pressure. . .

George just hates it when we get an audience :) He was just complaining that he had a 10 day run of no rain, and a clean truck. Then it rained :)
