Lazy Days of Summer

The past few days we have not done too much. I did finally get up on the roof and washed it with some Spic-N-Span. The last time I washed it was when we were in Phoenix.  I also cleaned the outside awning. With the temps getting into the mid 90’s I decided to wait until the cold front moves in to wash the rest of it.

There are a few people here even though most of the park is shut down. We do have electric and water at our site but no sewer. The honey wagon came by Tuesday afternoon and emptied our tanks. Our black tank can make it a week easy. The grey tank fills up quicker due to showers and the dishwasher. If we conserve enough we can even get in a load or two of laundry.

We had a couple set up next to us on Tuesday as well. They are Stan and Joanne from Anderson Indiana and they part time it. He has a nice little boat that he carries on the back of his fifth wheel, complete with trolling motor. His regular fishing buddy could not come, so he invited me to fish with him the next two weeks. He did not have to ask me twice.

We went out on the small lake behind our rigs and caught a few fish. We are not allowed to keep any bass, but we can keep all the bluegill, red ear, and crappie we want. Our plan is to get a mess then have a fish fry later next week.

Here we are in his little “Pond Prowler” boat.

It is perfect for getting around on these little lakes.

It is supposed to cool off a little this weekend so Sunday we might take a motorcycle ride over to Shades State Park. There are some hiking trails that we have not been on before. We will pack the little cargo trailer with the gas grill, lawn chairs, food etc.. and make a full day of it.  Until then, we are just going to be lazy bones and hang at the rig.

Enjoy Your Day!

Yum -- a fish fry sounds like a great plan!

Being on the water not catching fish beats sitting at desk like me where I type this comment. Can't wait to be fulltiming. We will be in Eureka Springs 9/10 leaving 9/17
If you're anywhere near there let us know. We'd love to see you guys.

Looks like a perfect way to spend a hot summer day.
