Travel Day To Clinton Indiana

Wednesday morning we piddled around until it was time to pack up and head southwest, about 180 miles. We are trying not to drive on the interstates if at all possible, which should make for a more leisurely drive.

We got hitched up and I raised the front jacks. I was afraid to look, so I asked Max to see if they were staying up.  They were. I will not be comfortable until they stay up for several moves.

It took us about 4 hours to drive the 180 miles, which included a lunch stop in Noblesville. We arrived at the Horseshoe Lakes Thousand Trails campground at about 5:30pm. We then hopped on the bike to check out the different campsite options.

Right now they are working on their sewer system, so we can not hook up to the sewer. Also the water will be turned off and on for repairs as well from time to time. We will just have to keep our water tank full for the times they have it shut off. They will also bring a honey wagon to the site every week so we can dump the tanks.

The park itself is situated around several little lakes. We wanted to get a site that would allow us to get a satellite signal. Unfortunately we could not find one with a good clear view of the southern sky. We opted for a back in site next to one of the lakes. We are tucked into the trees on the left.

 

While we were having our rig worked on a couple of weeks ago, we went to the Shipshewana flea market. We had this sign made up to put in front of our campsites. It is made out of corian. I plan on scrollsawing a Goldwing to hang underneath it as well.

The little lake behind us opens up a little just past our site.

I may have to get the sea eagle out and do some fishing while we are here.

The other park amenities are pretty much closed due to the renovations going on. The pool is closed and the activity center is inactive. Needles to say it is not busy here at all. We will see how it is this weekend when the weekenders show up. If they show up.

We do not have any real plans. We will take it easy for a few days, then we will maybe see about heading to a state park or maybe a covered bridge tour. For now we will enjoy the quiet.
