Kalamazoo Michigan

We spent our last Saturday and Sunday at Batesville with David and Beth and the boys. The weather cooperated and we had nice warm weather.

We spent some time swimming in the lake at the little water park they have set up. They have a bid air slide, a trampoline and an inflatable alligator. The boys had fun sliding and jumping into the lake while Max, David, Beth and I floated near by.

After swimming we headed back to the rig for some dinner and then went for an evening campfire at Ralph and Rose’s place. We enjoyed some smore’s and conversation for awhile then the boys were getting tired so we called it a night.

Sunday Max and I made a big breakfast consisting of eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, biscuits and pancakes. We hardly ever cook a big breakfast so we enjoyed all of it.

Later we went swimming at the pool and then went back for some brats and burgurs on the grill. Dave and Beth left soon after to head back home while we started getting some things ready for our trip with the boys.

I do not know why I did not get any pictures all last weekend. I guess since I was swimming a lot I figured the camera was probably safer at the rig.

We got up Monday and made our way to Kalamazoo Michigan. It was a fairly uneventful trip except for where we ran into some severe weather. Luckily we were only about 8 miles from where we were going to stop for lunch. Max got pretty soaked but as hot as it was she said it actuall felt pretty good.

We made it to the Spring Lake campground. As far as campgrounds go, this one is not the best. There are only about 50 full hookup sites with 50 amp and they were all taken. Our first thought was to take a pull through and move as soon as a full hook up site opened up.

We pulled into one and got partially set up. But after talking to the campground host, they suggested I take a site without hookups due to electrical problems in that section.

So we moved to another spot. After getting backed in, I then noticed that the electrical hookups were on the wrong side and at the front of the sight. We then moved to another spot and I got backed in again. Then we find out that there was not even a 30 amp plug in the box. Shessh! We then moved to a fourth spot and was able to get the rig in and plugged in. The only issue here is I am getting a low voltage of around 105 to 112. Not sure I am going to run the A/C  with that low of voltage.

We do not have full hook ups so we will have to have a honey wagon come around when we need it.  At least the site has shade most of the day.

We chose this campground because of the pool and the kids activities for the boys. Hopefully all of that will help us keep them entertained. So far the playground is effective!

Oooo -- sorry it took you four tries to get settled into a site. Definitely looks like the campground should entertain the kids, though. And if you can't run the A/C, at least there's a pool to cool off in.
