Emma Time and Washing the RV Roof

Monday we got up and did our usual thing of walking a few miles. Then Max made a grocery list and we headed off to buy groceries. Food prices are really starting to go up. Of course the bill was higher because we found this box set of classic western movies. 100 movies in all for only 10 bucks.

Then, I also spotted this 50 classic combat movie pack for another 10 bucks.

I could not decide so I just got both of them. After groceries were put away we just relaxed around the rig for the rest of the day.

Tuesday we met our son Mike and our grandbaby Emma at the playground. We played with her for awhile until she started getting tired and worn out. Nap time!

Some of my favorite pictures taken from the playground.

After seeing Mike and Emma we headed for a late lunch and then went home to start the process of cleaning the rig, both inside and out.

Maxine started doing a deep cleaning inside and I started cleaning the roof. We have a rubber roof and they recommend using Spic and Span on it. It works pretty good but makes the rubber real slippery. It takes me a couple of hours to do the roof and by then I am ready to do the sides of the rig another day. I plan on washing the outside on Wednesday even though it is supposed to rain in the afternoon. Of course since I am washing the rig, it will rain for sure.

I will eventually buy a dry wash system that a friend of ours showed us. It seems to work well for him especially if you do a quick touch every now and then. I really like the extension pole it uses and the microfiber pads.

I also finally got around to washing the bugs off the front of the rig. Normally I just used a microfiber towel and some water and they would rub off, although with a little effort. I read on one of the forums that some people use dryer sheets. I thought I would give it a try.

I wish I would have tried it last year when I read it. It was amazing! I just hosed the front of the rig to get it wet and then wet the sheet. The bugs and grime came off so easy it was like magic. It does leave a film of the fabric softener so I just wiped it down as I went with a dry microfiber towel. Bugs, I fear you no more!

Enjoy Your Day!

The bugs (dead tho they be) will smell downy fresh! :-)

You might go back over with a little wax as the dryer sheets take the wax off. But they do work.

We've had great luck with those dryer sheets too. Hope your Emma time still outweighed your cleaning time.
