Lake Pleasant Arizona

We spent our last night at the Benson SKP park and had a ball. It was their annual “Polar Bear” night. At first I thought of the Polar Bear groups that would jump into cold lakes or rivers in January.

The problem with this was where were they going to find a cold lake or river in Arizona? I then discovered that they were talking about the Polar Bear drink.  Now there are several ways to make a Polar Bear. This group uses Ice Cream, Vodka, Kahlua, and Cream De Mint.

They had 3 bartenders and they mixed pitchers for a solid 2 hours. Lets just say that we did our part in making their event a success. We ended the evening playing cards and saying goodbye to our friends since we were leaving the next morning.

We got up on Friday morning and got hitched up and checked out. We had about 200 miles to travel to get to Lake Pleasant. The drive was not too bad, but the traffic around Phoenix was a little busy. Luckily we hit Phoenix around 2:00pm and avoided the rush hour.

Lake Pleasant is a regional county park and is situated on a large lake. Some of the campsites have electricity and water and all of them have a terrific view.

We are on a peninsula and have a great view of the lake and the mountains in the distance.

We are about 15 minutes away from Maxine’s sister, and maybe 45 from her mother. We will be here for the next 10 days and will visit with them as much as we can. We will also do some things in the park while we are here as well. Soaking up the sunshine will be one of them.

Enjoy Your Day!
