Ahhhh! Room at Last

Max and I had a great time in Apache Junction and visiting family and friends in the Phoenix area. I loved the visiting but hated the busy traffic and the very cramped campgrounds.

Here was our spot in Apache Junction. What this does not show was that our truck was about 3 inches from the park model next door and that the car on the far side was parked with there hood partially  under our bedroom slide.

After spending about 5 weeks in the “Valley” we were ready to get on the road to more wide open spaces. We are attending “Boondocking” rally in the desert just north of Quartzsite. Every year there is a big rock and gem show and an RV show in Quartzsite that draws thousands of Rver’s that boondock on the BLM land surrounding the area.

We were here last year with all the crowds and it was a lot of fun. This time however the shows are over and the crowds are gone and we are just here for a nice little gathering of about 40 rigs to learn a little more about Boondocking and meeting up with friends that we have previously met.

We arrived around 3:00pm and was escorted to our spot in the circle. Not everyone is here yet but they should be arriving soon. We got set up and joined the circle by the campfire ring. Our hosts Howard and Linda had tables and grills set up for a hot dog cook out.

Our spot in the circle.

Getting to know each other as more people came in to the circle

This is my kind of circle where they even bring refreshments to share.

We enjoyed the campfire under the stars and visiting with everyone. We called it a night and headed in around 9:30 and got ready for bed. The next two weeks we will see what develops. I want to lean about some solar systems and just enjoy the openness of the desert and looking forward to some great campfires.

Enjoy Your Day!

You'll have a great time I'm sure. Wish we could have attended, too far out of the way this year.
