Getting Chilly

The highs here are in the low 60’s and the lows at night are getting down to about 38. It is suppose to warm back up to the mid 70’s on Wednesday and stay that way for the next week. I hope so because I want  to get the RV washed and waxed during the next week and start going over my maintenance check list for the rig.

Saturday we spent the day shopping with mom. She wanted to get some ceiling lights and a ceiling fan for me to install for her. She is scheduled for her surgery on Tuesday and we will spend Wednesday and Thursday at her house while she re-coops. This will give me some projects to work on during that time.

Saturday night we went to eat at the Horny Toad restaurant. It was recommended to us from a Goldwing buddy of ours. (Thanks Greg) It is in the city of Cave Creek and is a cute little place to eat. We both had the Horny Toad burger which was a bacon cheeseburger with BBQ sauce and fries. Not too bad.

Sunday we went back to Cave Creek and visited the town. They were having a craft fair and had all kinds of booths set up. We strolled around for an hour or so and then decided to head to another lake in the area. We headed to Lake Bartlett which is about 45 minutes from Phoenix. It has about 2800 acres of boat able water and is fed by the Verde River.

One thing that is nice about this lake is that you can find camping spots along the shoreline. Well camp spots for popups and tents maybe. I took some pictures from the car on the way there and here are a few showing the general area.

The landscape seemed to change over every hill or curve we took. We spent most of the day just driving around looking at various locations. Finally we headed back to Betty and Randy’s house and Betty fixed some chili and we visited the evening away.

Monday we, or I should say Maxine finished wrapping the Christmas presents for the grand kids. We shipped them off in the afternoon. Now we are getting ready to be at the hospital for the day on Tuesday and at mom’s for the next couple of days.
