Hohenwald Tennessee

We are currently at the Natchez Trace Thousand Trails Resort just off of the Natchez Trace Parkway. We should have some nice scenic riding area’s to explore over the next week.

We had some thunderstorms roll through the area with a few tornado warnings just to the southeast of us. We do have a weather radio on that will tell us if any weather warnings are issued. We just have to find out which county we are in and the surrounding counties so we can determine the direction of any bad storms. Easy enough if we have an internet connection.

The campground here is very large. It is a 2 mile walk to the front office one way, with steep hills in between. We walked it once and I am already feeling the sore muscles. I guess that is good, but I still hate to exercise.

There are very few people here right now. It is not quite the beginning of their season yet, so many of the amenities are not open. There is a nice store with a restaurant that is open and the prices for breakfast are very reasonable. I wonder if I walk the 2 miles up and down the hills if that would burn the calories of their biscuit and gravy breakfast. Probably not!

Here is our spot for the next 2 weeks. There were prettier spots but they were not very level and the cell signal was not  very good. We wanted to make sure we had internet service so we found a spot up on top of the hill.

It is a nice campground but it could use some work on the sites that have full hook up’s. If we were only staying for a week we would have chosen a site with just electric and could have had a nice lake view.

We will be watching the 10 day weather forecast closely for next week. We plan on making the trip to Indiana on the bike in one day. That would be about 480 miles from here. That is a long day on a bike but even longer if it is going to be wet or too cold. We are comfortable in the 45 to 50 degree range. Hopefully it will only be that cold between Indy and Huntington.

For now we will absorb the sun and warmth.

Enjoy Your Day!
