So Much for Sun

We were kind of hoping for some sunny sky’s and temps at least in the 60’s. We are getting to enjoy clouds, rain, thunderstorms, wind, and the low 50’s. We have been inside for the last three days watching it rain. I am starting to run out of pre-recorded movies.

We are within a quarter mile of the Natchez Trace Parkway and we have not been able to get the bike out on it yet. Hopefully we will soon.

We have been watching the weather forecasts between here and Huntington Indiana. We want to leave on Thursday morning and ride the 480 miles in one day. I guess as long as there is no snow or ice in the forecast we will be taking the bike. Diesel is at $4.00 a gallon. At that cost we can be chilly and have sore butts. Hopefully it will only be chilly between Indy and Huntington.

Max has been spending her rainy days working on our campground map on Google. She is plotting every campground that we have a membership with nationwide on the map. It will be categorized by membership type. Thousand Trails, Coast to Coast, Escapee’s etc…..

We will use this tool to help us plan our routes across the country. We will be able to see on the map all of our available campgrounds and then can get directions from where we are to the next one very easily. This is a lot of work for her to do and will be a continuing project for awhile.

I on the other hand have been spending my rainy day’s watching old movies and napping. For some reason, I really like movies that were made in the late 30’s and early 40’s. I am a big fan of the Thin Man with William Powell and Myrna Loy. They play Nick and Nora Charles: a former detective and his rich, playful wife. They solve a murder case mostly for the fun of it.

If you want some intelligent fun with that since long vanished Hollywood class, catch this one. This comic murder mystery introduced the world to one of the most perfect screen matches. Its amazing that this film was shot in only 12 day’s.

Okay enough of my Rodger Ebert moment.

Sunday looks for more of the same. Hopefully the sun will come out in the afternoon so we can go outside to play.

Enjoy Your Day!
