Our last few days we have just been relaxing during the day, but the winds pick up in the evening and the relaxation comes to an end. We pull the dining room slide in to help cut down the noise and we watch a little TV before turning in early.
The forecast is, that the nightly wind gusts are to still be in the 40 to 50 mph range. Saturday night was another terrible night sleeping. We are scheduled to be at the TT Palm Desert resort on Monday anyway, so Max and I decided to leave the desert on Easter Sunday and head up to Indio and spend the night at the Fantasy Springs Casino.
They have a large lot where RVs can park for a few days for free. We took the chance that it would not be as windy. We left Borrego Springs around 11:30 and stopped at the Arco station in Salton City and dumped our tanks. It was then a short 60 mile drive to the casino. We got parked and Max started on her grocery list for our Monday trip to the market.
For our Easter dinner we went into the casino where they had a big Buffet going on with all kinds of food. It was not cheap by any means so we just had our meal and did not donate any other money in the little bandits that were strung out all over. The nice thing is that we did not have a long drive after dinner.
It is still windy here but nothing like it was in Borrego Springs. We slept pretty well. We will go get our groceries first thing this morning then head over to the campground this afternoon. We will have a busy week getting all the sand and dust cleaned out of the rig and all of the vehicles washed.
We have been boondocking since Feb 10th and it is now April 1st. We love boondocking and by adding the solar we have been able to stay out as long as we want to. Getting to set up with full hookups is going to be like staying at a 5 star resort.
Our work camping assignment at Big Bear Lake is getting close. We are ready for it to begin and get into a routine. We will take a drive up there in the next week or so to scope it out before we take the rig up the mountain. Pine trees will be a nice change from the desert environment that we have been in for so long.
Hope everyone had a great Easter Sunday!
Enjoy Your Day
